Pageanthology’s Supreme Queen for 2023 is Ecuador’s Andrea Aguilera – a pageant veteran who finally claimed the international crown that had eluded her for years, and made history doing it.
Aguilera’s road to the top wasn’t a quick one. She began competing at just 16 years old, building a national resume that included Reina de Ventanas and Miss Earth Ecuador before winning Miss Grand Ecuador 2021. That title took her to Miss Grand International 2021, where she finished 1st Runner-Up – agonizingly close, but not quite the crown.
Two years later, appointed to represent Ecuador at Miss Supranational 2023, she got her moment. Competing against 65 delegates in Nowy Sącz, Poland. Aguilera advanced through the Top 24, then the Top 12, and finally the Top 5 before being crowned Miss Supranational 2023 – becoming the first woman from Ecuador to ever win the title.
Her answer during the final question round became part of her winning moment. Asked what makes a great ambassador for the organization, she spoke about wanting to start her own foundation to help single mothers find employment, and about her dream of becoming a doctor, funding her own medical education through her platform as queen.
In a competition that also marked the pageant’s 14th edition and included four debut nations.
For turning years of near-misses into a historic first crown for her country, and for backing it with a genuine, personal platform
