Miss Universe just got its date. The pageant has confirmed that the 75th edition of Miss Universe will take place on November 24, 2026, marking one of the most historic nights the competition has ever staged.
The full event schedule is also taking shape. The National Costume Competition is set for November 21, followed by the Preliminary Competition on November 22, before the grand finale crowns the new Miss Universe on the 24th.
The event returns to Puerto Rico, hosted at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan — popularly known as El Choliseo, with a capacity of 18,500 attendees. This will be the fourth time Puerto Rico has hosted Miss Universe, following previous editions in 1972, 2001, and 2002. Puerto Rico’s own pageant legacy runs deep, having produced three Miss Universe titleholders of its own: Deborah Carthy-Deu (1985), Denise Quiñones (2001), and Zuleyka Rivera (2006).
What makes this edition especially significant is the scale. Organizers are expecting more than 135 countries and territories to compete, which would make it the largest Miss Universe pageant in history. The celebration isn’t limited to one night either — the Miss Universe Organization has described 2026 as a full year-long celebration in Puerto Rico, featuring culture, music, and events leading up to the main event, honoring 75 years of the franchise’s history.
Reigning Miss Universe Fátima Bosch of Mexico will crown her successor at the conclusion of the event, closing out her reign on the very stage that will kick off Miss Universe’s next chapter.
For pageant fans, this is shaping up to be an edition worth marking on the calendar early — the biggest field ever assembled, a historic host country making its fourth return, and a milestone 75th anniversary all coming together on one night.
