Miss Universe 2026 Contestants – Angola: Wanderléia Rodrigues

Angola arrives at the 75th Miss Universe with one of its most promising representatives in recent memory. Carrying the country’s flag to San Juan, Puerto Rico is Wanderléia Rodrigues – a 23-year-old beauty queen whose journey to the international stage began in the provinces and ended with a national crown.

Wanderléia Rodrigues was born in Luanda Province and raised in Cuanza Norte Province, where she completed her primary and secondary education. Her path to Miss Universe was a grassroots one – on September 20, 2025, Rodrigues won Miss Cuanza Norte, allowing her to compete at Miss Angola Universe. She went on to claim the national title, winning Miss Angola Universe 2025 and becoming Angola’s representative to Miss Universe.

Her story is one of regional pride translated onto a global stage – from Cuanza Norte to Puerto Rico, Wanderléia has climbed every rung of Angola’s pageant ladder to earn her place among the world’s best.

At 23, she brings youth, energy, and the kind of authentic journey that resonates with audiences and judges alike. Angola has a passionate pageant following and a growing presence on the international stage, and Wanderléia’s selection reflects the country’s continued investment in producing competitive representatives.

Wanderléia will represent Angola at Miss Universe 2026, scheduled to be held in November 2026 in San Juan, Puerto Rico – one of 130+ delegates competing for the most coveted crown in pageantry.

Pageanthology’s Assessment:
Angola is a country with real potential that hasn’t always translated onto the Miss Universe stage. Wanderléia’s regional roots and natural journey give her an authenticity that can be compelling — but she’ll need strong performances across all segments to break through in a highly competitive field. One to watch as more content emerges ahead of November.
